SYNOPSIS
File Upload - different ways of getting files into the mud

DESCRIPTION

The Land offers several different ways of editting files on
the MUD:

1. Use ed
The primitive, built-in editor

2. Use mudFTP
mudFTP is a specialized, primitive protocol for transferring
files from and to muds. Get a mudFTP client from
http://www.andreasen.org/mudftp/ and configure it for
The Land in "Push mode". Afterwards, you can use the command
"mudftp" in the MUD to request sending files to you. The
files will be sent to your connected mudFTP client - you can
edit them and afterwards mudFTP will send them back.

3. Use WebDAV (recommended)
Access to /doc, /dom/main and your homedirectory is also
available via a WebDAV client. You have to change your Wizards
password at least once for generating your WebDAV password,
afterwards you can point your WebDAV client to one of the
following:

https://dav.spin.de/mud.spin.de/home/yourusername/
https://dav.spin.de/mud.spin.de/dom/main/
https://dav.spin.de/mud.spin.de/doc/

Login and password for WebDAV are your Wizard login.

Information about configuring WebDAV is available at
https://dav.spin.de/ (german) and
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q195851

4. Use MCP (also recommended)
MUD Clients specialized for the MOO type of MUDs often also
offer support for a thing called MudClientProtocol. Connect
with an MCP client and you can use the new command
"mcp edit" to send files to your editor, edit them there, and
send them back.

MCP Clients are e.g. GMoo (http://www.nowmoo.demon.nl/),
tkMOO-light (http://www.awns.com/tkMOO-light/),
Trebuchet (http://www.belfry.com/fuzzball/trebuchet/),
or VMoo for Windows (http://www.vmoo.com/en/),
Beryllium MOOps! (http://beryllium.net/moops-en/index.php).

MCP Support is also available for TinyFugue - but that
implementation is rather incomplete and buggy, we do not
recommend it.

5. MUME Local editting (currenty unsupported by The Land)
Clientsupport in: CanCan, PowTTY (http://www.elvenrunes.com/powtty/),
PowWow (Windows: http://axel.trocha.com/powwow/ and
Linux: http://Linuz.sns.it/~max/powwow/)
