Combat is deadly in TheLand. We made an attempt at a more realistic
form of combat. There are no hitpoints, artifical level boundaries and the
like. If you are engaged in combat, only your skills and your equipment
decide the outcome.

Following are the basics of combat:

While fighting, you grow more and more fatigue. The more fatigue you are,
the less likely it is that you are able to evade attacks. Hits might put you
into a shock and render you helpless, the most severe of them can result in
instant death. Lesser injuries will probably result in a bloodloss - if the
bloodloss is not stopped as soon as possible you might bleed to death.

Fighting multiple opponents is dangerous. You can only really concentrate on
one of them at a time and your defenses will be weaker against the other
opponents.

Do not forget that weapons have different ranges. A bow or a pike are great
weapons, outside, in the open plains, but in some narrow chamber, a small
sword or a knife will have an advantage.

You can change your style of combat freely between an aggressive, a defensive
or a balanced approach using the @tactic command.
