The mud differs between in-game commands and out-of-game commands. Out-of-game commands (like e.g. @quit) are prefixed with an @-sign, to make their purpose clearer and to avoid clashes with in-game commands (See e.g. list and @list which do different things).
In cases, where the name of an OOC command is unique, you can leave off the @-sign for conveniency, but if OOC commands and IC commands of the same name exist, you HAVE to use the @-sign.
